ISFB interviews

Interview with Florian Dugerdil, ISFB Future of Finance Certificate participant

June 28, 2024

Mr. Dugerdil, you recently took part in the ISFB Future of Finance Certificate course. What was your motivation for taking this course?

In our industry, which is under constant competitive pressure, it is crucial to keep abreast of technological advances and to understand the future evolution of banking. Today, continuing education is essential to maintain employability and relevance in our professional field. Personally, I take continuing education very seriously for several reasons: 1) to improve my skills; 2) to guarantee my employability; 3) to stimulate my intellect and get out of my comfort zone; 4) to innovate; and 5) to remain humble in recognizing that, even after 20 years in the business, there are always new things to learn.

What practical aspects of this training do you find applicable or do you question in your professional routine?

This certificate has been particularly enriching for me, working in a retail bank. It helps open our eyes to fintech innovations and tomorrow's finance, which is both unsettling and exciting. The biggest upheaval for me was becoming aware of the changes to come with the integration of AI into the banking sector, and the revolution this is already causing in our business model. Another alarming but crucial point concerns cybersecurity and the growth in increasingly sophisticated and complex cyberattacks, representing a permanent risk to our business.

What was your experience as a customer during the course?

The quality of our training courses, backed by the expertise of our trainers, ensures that we remain at the cutting edge of knowledge in our field. Exchanges with other professionals from Geneva's financial community enrich not only our network, but also our understanding of the practices of other establishments, inspiring us to adopt best practices in our own business.

I've been attending the ISFB for many years and can testify to its significant evolution over the last few months.
